The beauty of simple gestures in love

02:42

I was just sitting on my back patio enjoying some lunch. I'm in between recording podcast episodes and my honey, my fiancé, he walked in and he was carrying a beautiful, beautiful, full pink rose from our front yard. And he's been like my partner in crime trying to regrow these roses. If you follow me on LinkedIn, I released a story not too long ago about the evolution, evolution of these roses and me learning to garden and the magic of seeing them come back to life.

But when I tell you my heart melted when he came and just brought that single rose and it was so beautiful, just such a small or simple, small is not the right word, I would say simple gesture is really what I'm trying to encapsulate. It's such a simple gesture but so meaningful to me because I love those roses and he knows I love those roses. And it was just really sweet for him to bring me one, especially knowing I was gonna be busy today and doing all the things.

So I just wanted to share that just to hopefully inspire those listening. A, that the simple things do still matter in a world where we're overscheduled and don't make time enough for things of joy and beauty. It's the simple things, I think, that make life special. And also, love on the people around you. It doesn't have to be grand. It can be a kiss, it can be words of affirmation, it can be buying them lunch or making them lunch or making them a card, whatever. Everything doesn't have to be this consumer-driven thing. But just get to know the people who you love, what lights them up, and make sure you're taking time out to love on the people that love you. Have a wonderful day.
