Yesterday, I got a beautiful reminder of the benefit of just going with the flow. So last night, my honey and I were going to an event in San Francisco. We were excited. We left with good time to spare. We knew we had to find parking, all the things. As soon as we get into the city, we hit traffic at every turn. And we knew we were going during rush hour. But the traffic, the commuter traffic inside the city of San Francisco is wild. And the way that people are maneuvering, it's the cars, it's the delivery, mopeds, the pedestrians, like, it was out of control. And there were just, it was a madhouse everywhere you turned.
We got near the venue, and then we realized that it was a Warriors game. And because there was a Warriors game, it was absolutely mayhem around Chase Center trying to find parking. And we had no luck finding street parking. Again, every turn, there was some wacky like traffic or backup or just people just agitated honking horns. There was all kinds of stuff going on. So we finally said, you know what, I don't think it's in the cards to make this event. And we eventually found a parking garage, but they had jacked up the price because of the Warriors game. So they wanted like $75 to park, which was outrageous, just for us to go to this free event.
But at any rate, we said, you know what, let's just go and get some dinner. And that's exactly what we did. We drove over to the Mission District, found a really cute neighborhood restaurant, had an amazing dinner, and just had time to sit with each other and laugh and wonderful service from the restaurant. And it just reminded me, when I was reflecting on it this morning, that there's so much power in just going with the flow. Had we tried to force it and keep driving around or force parking in the garage, we would have been, you know, upset having to pay that amount. But instead, we used that money to go have a nice dinner, just connect with each other. And I just, it's just a beautiful reminder that sometimes if you hit resistance at every turn, it's just a redirect to go find something that's even better. Have a great day.
